HONG KONG ROYAL INSTRUCTIONS 1917 to 1988

THE CHIEF SECRETARY moved the following motion: That the Standing Orders of this Council be amended

(1). in Standing Order No. 3 by repealing paragraph (2) and

substituting

(2) The President shall preside at sittings

of the Council and shall be the Chairman of

committees of the whole Council. In the absence

of the President from a sitting of the Council

the Member appointed by the Governor shall so

preside, and in the absence of such Member the

senior Official Member present shall preside.";

(2) in Standing Order No. 5(2) by adding after

Gazette -

Į, or on a dissolution of the Council, whichever

is earlier';
