Sir,
I remember that last October when you, Sir, delivered the
first policy address to the Legislative Council, you mentioned in particular that the Government would amend the Long service payment outlined the

and you had also/delineated this scope of amendment. Today, the
Legislative Council will move the final legislative procedures concerning
the Employment (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill 1988. I am indeed very
more than sone

about

this because although this amendment already lags/one year behind
now
qure an answer promised date of amendment, we are at least/able new to respond to the
public.
According to the suggested amendments incorporated into the Bill,
Bill I believe that the amended ordinance will be able to extend the scope of
benefits of the long service payment scheme which has been implemented
for two and a half years. According to the amended ordinanee, any worker
on resignation qualified for the long service payment can be compensated on the grounds
