Attorney General's response to Dr. Henrietta Ip's speech
ATTORNEY GENERAL:
Sir, I am most grateful to Dr. Henrietta Ig for her support for this Bill which, as she rightly points out, takes a positive step towards improving the administration of justice.
This is part of a continuing
process, for as I informed this Council when I moved the second reading of the Bill on 18 May 1988, it is hoped that the civil jurisdiction of the District Court
could be further extended at a later stage.
