Question:

Two traffic accidents involving the derailment of a goods wagon at KCRC University Station and the breakdown of a container truck at the Lion Rock Tunnel caused traffic chaos in Kowloon on 4 June 1988. In the light of these accidents, will Government inform this Council, in the event of train derailment or service interruptions of other public utilities, what measures will be taken to cope with the chaotic situations and investigate into the cause of the accidents with a view to avoiding the occurrence of similar incidents?
