itself a polluting occupation because of the organic matter which

is put into the sea to feed the fish and the kitchen and toilet

wastes which are frequently discharged by those living on the fish

rafts. Given the intensity of competing demands for the use of

coastal waters, particularly for recreation, future expansion of

the mariculture industry is expected to be limited.
