Will Government inform this Council of the number and

the ranks of the officers (including the rank and

file) who have left the Royal Hong Kong Police Force

through early retirements and resignations during the

last five years and, in the light of these

retirements/resignations, whether the prospects of

expanding the force to replace the British garrison

for border duties will be seriously affected?
