AUDIT (AMENDMENT) BILL 1988

The Financial Secretary moved the Second Reading of :'A Bill to amend the

Audit Ordinance'.

The purpose of this Bill is to require the Director

of Accounting Services to transmit account statements to the

Director of Audit for funds, other than the Lotteries Fund,

established under section 29 of the Public Finance Ordinance

and to require the Director of Audit to certify the accounts

of these funds. This will improve the procedure and bring

the handling of these accounts into line with the normal

practice.

Lotteries Fund, the Home Ownership Fund, the Student Loan

the Mass Transit Fund and the Capital Works Reserve
