(iv) Further schemes are in the planning stage to

reduce the nutrient load on the nullah from

the sewage treatment works and to provide

sewerage systems for the villages in the

flood plain of the nullah south of Yuen Long

town.

Construction of additional sewerage and sewage

treatment work will take a number of years and the

environmental improvement scheme will alleviate the effects

of the polluted nullah in the meantime.
