MR. YE UNG : Sir, are the fixed police posts and first-aid posts along the cycling track also being manned during the

weekdays? And what are the operating hours during

weekdays, weekends and public holidays?

SECRETARY FOR HEALTH AND WELFARE : Sir, I am not sure of

the exact hours but my understanding is that they are

manned mainly at the weekends and on public holidays when

large numbers of cyclists use the cycle track. I will,

however, check on the exact times and let Mr. YEUNG know.

DR. IP : Sir, cycling is an excellent sport and therefore

should be made safe and convenient for the public.

Therefore would Government consider:

1. locating bicycle rental shops as near as

possible to the entrance to the cycle track;

2..

delineating all cycling tracks for two-way

traffic; and

3. erecting signs at the entrance to

to the cycl

track showing clearly a simple code of conduct?
