shortfall in secondary school places in Shatin, Taipo and North

districts

were

detailed

in

a

reply

to a

question in

this

Council on 3 June 1987. They include the following:

adding seven more schools to the school building

programme,

September 1991. completion by September

This brings to 30 the number of new secondary

schools being built in the region;

advancing the completion dates of new schools to

the maximum extent that site constraints allow;

advancing the opening of new schools by having two schools share a newly completed building in

its first year of operation;

reducing the number of discretionary places from

same district;
