I move that the Road Traffic (Driving Licences

Regulations and Registration and Licensing

and Licensing of Vehicles. Regulations) (Amendment) Bill 1988 be read a

The Bill seeks to give legislative effect to the proposals in this year's Budget to increase the fees for certain driving and vehicle licences with effect from

2nd March 1988. As these fees were last revised in 1987, a 6 increase is proposed. I estimate that this will yield an additional $62 million in the current financial

year.
