Mr. POON Chi-fai and Prof. POON Chung-kwong then spoke on the original motion.

Mr. SZETO Wah addressed the Council and moved the following amendment to the original motion:

"To add at the end of the motion the following

'but regrets the Government's decision to introduce only ten

directly elected Members into the Legislative Council in 1991 and to implement it by replacing the ten seats currently filled by indirect elections from the District Boards.'".
