The restrictions have not so far had any noticeable effect on the local job market or on maids employed in Hong Kong, though prospective employers had to rush to process their applications before the cut off date on 15th February. I think we have good reason to hope that their future effects may also be minimal, since, as I have said,
the recent discussions went well and it seems likely that
the restrictions will be lifted.
