An Ordinance to amend the Dutiable Commodities Ordinance.

[25 November 1987]

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. (1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Dutiable Commodities Short title and (Amendment) Ordinance 1988.

(2) This Ordinance shall be deemed to have come into operation at 2.30 p.m. on 25 November 1987.

Section 66 of the principal Ordinance is repealed.

Repeal of section 66.

The Schedule to the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting Amendment of Part II and substituting the following-

Schedule.

"PART II

DUTY ON TOBACCO

1.

Duty shall be payable on tobacco at the following rates-

(a) for each 1,000 cigarettes

$165

(b) cigars

(c) Chinese prepared tobacco

$220/kg $ 43/kg

(d) all other manufactured tobacco except tobacco

intended for the manufacture of cigarettes

$200/kg
