I enclose a paper which the Chairman of the Hong Kong Branch is circulating seeking membership of Conservatives Abroad in Hong Kong.

In the covering letter to me, he says:

idza

The British Representative Office, is new and particularly taken up by longer term expats. This seems to me

to be a realistic proposal particularly as the UK. will have to set up a consulate here in under 10yrs anyway!

I take it that there are no complications caused by our Branch advocating this.

I hope to meet Mr Allison, the Chairman when he comes to the UK in the next two weeks and would like to have a steer before then.

Yours sincerely,

A
