WEI CHUNSHU
Chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous region.
1. Wei Chunshu is a member of the Zhuang National
Minority.
He has worked in his native Guangxi throughout
his known career. He was Mayor of Nanning, the regional
capital, before the Cultural Revolution. He was again
active in the administration of Nanning by 1973 and rose
to become chairman of the Regional People's Government
(equivalent of provincial Governor) by 1983.

Although Wei's career has been confined to Guangxi,
he has had some contact with foreigners, in the form of
cultural groups from Vietnam. He led a delegation from
the Ministry of Communications to Vietnam in 1960.
