I assured all the officials I met that if they
were to visit Hong Kong we would give them a similar programme
of visits and talks and if they were interested in any special
areas we would do our best to satisfy their requirements.

To a large extent the week's visit was an
ambassadorial "ice-breaking" exercise and in this it seems to
have succeeded admirably. All officials seemed very pleased
to receive the printed materials that
that we had brought and we
have now established a good range of contacts for the future.
