4. It will be necessary now to examine the domestic legal, financial and administrative implications of applying the Convention to the territory which you administer. We should be grateful if you would set this in hand. It would be useful at this stage if you would let us have an initial reaction and comment on what will need to be done in your case and, if possible, a likely timescale for passing the necessary legislation.

For Wellington:
We are looking at how the Convention can be extended to Pitcairn, bearing in mind correspondence last year between the Commissioner, South Pacific Department and Vienna about importation of certain drugs. We should welcome any comments you may have at this stage.
