An Ordinance to amend the Waste Disposal Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. (1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Waste Disposal (Amend- Short title and

ment) Ordinance 1987.

(2) Subject to subsection (3), this Ordinance shall come into operation

on 16 October 1987.

(3) Section 15(1) shall come into operation on 24 June 1988.

Section 2(1) of the principal Ordinance is amended—

Amendment of section 2.

(a) by deleting the definition of “animal waste" and substituting the (Cap. 354.)

following-

: ::

““analyst” means the Government Chemist or any person

appointed by the Governor under section 23E(5);

"animal waste" means-

(a) the manure or urine of any animal; or

(b) any dead animal or any part of any dead animal not

fit for, or not intended for, human consumption; or

(c) any bedding, straw or other waste contaminated by

the manure or urine of any animal;

"authorized officer" means a public officer authorized under

section 23A;
