COLONIAL PRISONERS REMOVAL ACT
Greg Phillpotts has passed on to me a copy of your letter of 15 December to Major Newberry, as I am responsible for the 1884 Act here. I can confirm that we are content with the arrangements set out in the Hong Kong memorandum, which are broadly on the lines of existing arrangements. Perhaps,
however, I could mention that we would not necessarily expect precisely analogous procedures to apply as and when the 1984 Repatriation of Prisoners Act is extended to Hong Kong.
