Implementation Action

The Companies (Amendment) Ordinance 1987 has recently

been passed. The R. G. is of the view that the

Ordinance will in large part meet the concerns of the Select Committee. Secretary for Security to consider inclusion of section "152A type" powers in the Police

Force Ordinance (Cap. 232).

Prosecution counsel should continue to be appointed at an early stage in the investigation and to co-operate actively with the investigating officers

involved in the case.

Implementation Action

Status quo to be maintained.

The leading prosecution counsel should be nominated Case Controller from the inception of the case, with

the responsibilities set out in the text.

The responsibilties "set out in the text are

"(a) direction of the investigation;

(b) where appropriate, employment of accountants

and other experts;

(c) ensuring co-ordination between members of the

prosecuting and investigative teams;

(a) ensuring that documentary exhibits are
