I refer to my two letters to you on the above subject, dated 8th and

21st October 1987. I would be grateful if you would inform me as to the present position.

I understand that Mr Justice Barker is still sitting in a judicial capacity in Hong Kong. The unrest in the press appears to continue and I enclose a

copy of an extract from/Target dated 23rd November 1987, and a translation from Ming Pao, Daily News Editorial, dated 21st November 1987.
