THE BUILDINGS (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 1987

This Ordinance amends the Buildings Ordinance
in several respects as follows

sections 2 and 3(a) delete obsolete references to municipal engineers in the definition of "authorized person";
section 3(b) revises the composition and quorum of the Authorized Persons' and Structural Engineers' Registration Committee, and provides for an acting chairman;
section 3(c) makes clear that an
application for registration may only be referred once;
section 4 extends the power of the Building Authority to prescribe conditions;
sections 5, 6 and 7 enable the Building Authority to recover the costs of certain incidental works carried out by the Authority under the principal Ordinance;
section 8 dispenses with the approval of the Authority for certain types of drainage works.

Before the Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, the Attorney General advised that he could properly do so.
