The Bond Group of Com- panies is a reflection of modern Australia-vigorous, progress- ive and alert to the need to contribute in full to the people of Australia and those in neighbouring countries.
In two decades the Group and its associated companies have grown from a tiny
company with capital of only $A1,000 to become one of Aust- ralia's most successful and diversified major enterprises, with annual turnover of almost $A1 billion.
This spectacular growth has not happened by accident. It is the result of far-sighted strategic planning combined with personal effort.
Through this marriage of the essential business skills, the Bond Group's strength has been to know where to look for opportunities-and how to take advantage of them quickly and decisively.
The Group's strategic frame- work is to generate a strong cash-flow base with primary emphasis on minerals and energy, supported by brewing, media, retail, property and industrial activities.
With the enterprise and fore- sight for which it has become noted, the Group has in more recent times steered a course into carefully chosen areas of advanced technology.
Throughout its development the Group has formed mutually productive associations with corporations from other countries.
These international links are being expanded, offering opportunities for involvement in the development of Australia's vast resources. Nature has been generous to Australia, but it takes human skills and energy to ensure that the world benefits as it should from Australian
resources.
Beneath the strength and potential of the Bond Group there is a guiding spirit-clear- sighted recognition that the key to success is to be found in its people.
Success depends on ideas. And only people have ideas. The Bond Group's outlook is that given incentive and opportunity, people will work wonders. But without maximum development of human potential, little can be be achieved.
An integral part of the Bond Group attitude is therefore to provide the fullest scope for its staff - both men and women, who have equal opportunity- so that they achieve their maximum development and productivity.
From this philosophy also flows the Group's strong corpor- ate citizenship.
