An Ordinance to amend the Control of Publications Consolidation
Ordinance.
[13 March 1987]
Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Council thereof.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Control of Publications Short title. Consolidation (Amendment) Ordinance 1987.
2. The long title to the principal Ordinance is repealed and replaced Repeal and by the following--
"To provide for the registration of local newspapers and news agencies and the licensing of newspaper distributors and for matters connected therewith.".

Section 1 of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting Amendment of "Control of Publications Consolidation" and substituting the following—

"Registration of Local Newspapers".
Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is amended...
(a) in the definition of "address" by deleting "the Colony" and
substituting the following-
“Hong Kong”;
(b) by deleting the definition of "import";
(c) by deleting the definition of "local newspaper" and substituting
the following-

"local newspaper" means a newspaper printed or produced
in Hong Kong;";
