FCO ORAL QUESTIONS 22 APRIL: PQ NO 17: HONG KONG
1.
―
Further to para 3 of my minute of 21 April we have now heard that the Secretary of State's party will telegraph their report of the Secretary of State/Wu meeting only after their arrival in
Australia.
This will be too late for the purpose of briefing Mr Renton for
this afternoon's parliamentary business. I therefore attach a general line which Mr Renton might wish to take in answer to questions about the Secretary of State/Wu meeting.
2.
Mr Renton will also wish to see the attached (generally accurate) reports in today's "Times" and "Telegraph" on Vietnamese refugees. These reports do not however affect the supplementary notes we have already provided on the Vietnamese refugees issue.
