It is a war film showing an American defeat in the attempt to capture highway 9. The subtitles laid the blame of the Vietnamese war squarely onto the Americans.

This a North Korean propaganda film depicting the deplorable life in South Korea by showing the different life styles of two twin sisters. The twin sister living in North Korea grew up to become a singer and dancer and lived happily with her foster parents. The sister in South Korea was forced to work in a cabaret. The film at the end tried to suggest it was the American army that had created the difference.

Dersu Uzala

Origin: Japan-USSR

Dersu is a member of a minority race living in the border between China and Russia. In 1902, a Russian · captain was in the region on a survey mission and met Dersu. They became friends and had some adventures together. They travelled together and met "bad Chinese" called "Gunguzi" who raped, killed, stole and committed other vices. Eventually, Dersu became blind and agreed to the captain's offer to live in Russia. However, Dersu could not adapt to the new environment and decided to go back to where he lived. The captain gave him a new rifle, but when he was seen by the bandit Chinese, he was killed for its possession.
