There have been no major discussions by District Boards on film classification since September 1982, but some fragmented views were expressed, as follows

(a) Individual submission to DC(Ti)

A Tsuen Wan District Board member urged that films should be carefully categorized and penalties should be imposed on teenagers and parents who contravene the law;

(b) Discussion at Kwun Tong District Board in June 85

In the context of a discussion on the control of objectionable publications, members emphasized the harmful effects of publications, movies, and video tapes with objectionable contents, and urged that they should all be brought under control; and

(c) UMELCO visit to Wanchai in July £5

A DB member expressed concern over pornographic films as well as explicit advertisements and pictures displayed outside cinemas, and asked that censorship of films and display of pictures be reviewed.
