(AMENDMENT)
(A) in sub-paragraph (i) by deleting "3" and substituting the
following

(C) in sub-paragraph (vii) by deleting "3" and substituting
the following-

(D) in sub-paragraph (ix) by deleting "or industry" and
substituting the following-

(c) by inserting after subsection (5) the following--
“(5A) The function of the Deputy Chairman shall be to act in place of the Chairman whenever the Chairman is absent from Hong Kong or is for any other reason unable to exercise the powers or perform the duties of his office as Chairman or whenever there is a vacancy in the office of Chairman."; and (d) by deleting subsection (12) and substituting the following—

"(12) The Chairman of the Authority or in his absence the Deputy Chairman, shall preside at meetings of the Authority, and, in the absence of both the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman, such member shall preside as the members present select.”.
Section 6 of the principal Ordinance is repealed.
Section 7(2) of the principal Ordinance is amended- (a) in paragraph (b) by deleting "and to section 10(7)”; (b) by deleting paragraph (c) and substituting the following-
"(c) conduct any examination or category of examinations, other than specified examinations, as the Governor may approve and make rules to regulate the conduct of candidates sitting those examinations and the exclusion of candidates for breach of any such rule;";
(c) in paragraph (d) by deleting “by notice published in the Gazette fix fees, subject to the approval of the Director of Education,” and substituting the following—
"fix the fees";
(d) in paragraph (e) by inserting after "fit," the following-
"the Secretary of the Authority and”;

(e) by deleting paragraph (g) and substituting the following-
"(g) enter into arrangements with any educational institution for the use of such institution's accommodation, per- sonnel, facilities and services for the purpose of conducting examinations under this Ordinance;"; and
(f) in paragraph (n) by deleting "paragraphs (a), (b) and (d)” and
substituting the following-

Section 8 of the principal Ordinance is repealed and replaced by Repeal and
replacement of section 8.
"Amendment
of Schedule.
8. The Governor in Council may, by order published in the Gazette, amend the Schedule.".
6. The principal Ordinance is amended by adding, after section 8, the Addition of following-
"Publication of examination results.

8A. The Authority may publish or disclose the results of any examination conducted by it, in such manner as it thinks fit.".
Section 9 of the principal Ordinance is amended-
(a) by deleting the full stop at the end thereof and substituting a
semicolon; and
(b) by inserting after paragraph (d) the following-

"(e) such other sums and property as may be received by the Authority in the exercise of its powers and duties.".
Section 10 of the principal Ordinance is amended--
(a) in subsection (2)—–
(i) by deleting "receipts and payments" and substituting the following-
"income and expenditure";
(ii) by deleting the colon and substituting a full stop; and (iii) by deleting the proviso;
(b) in subsection (3) by deleting "receipts" and substituting the
following-
"income";
(c) in subsection (5) by deleting "receipts and payments” and sub-
stituting the following—
(d) by deleting subsection (7).

9. Section 11 of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting Amendment of subsection (1) and substituting the following—

"(1) The Authority shall keep such accounts of its transactions as the Director of Accounting Services may require and shall prepare, for each financial year of the Authority, a statement of the accounts of the Authority, which statement shall include an income and expenditure
