It has been suggested, following a piece in one of the
Sunday newspapers (The Standard) that the Control of Publications
Ordinenos was never approved in London when it was enacted in 1951
and that therefore it has never bem valid Law at all.

This point is based on a misapprehension of the relevant
provision of the Royal Instructions. From a quick search carried out
in the contemporary papers, it does appear that no notice of non-
disallowance was ever published in the Government Gazette. But that
faat - if it be a fact - does not affect the validity of the Ordinasõe.
The relevant Article of the Letter Patent - Article VIII
provides that the Queen, through the Secretary of State
