Background and Argument

On 19 May 1987, having considered memorandum XCC (87) 74, the Council advised and the Governor ordered -

Xcc(87)74.

that the Pension Benefits Bill 1987, as set out at Annex A to the memorandum, should be introduced

the Legislative

Council; and

into

that the Pension Benefits Regulation 1987, as set out at Annex B to the memorandum, should be approved in principle subject to reference back to Members after the Pension Benefits Bill has been passed into law.

The Bill was passed by the Legislative Council on 24 June 1987 and received the assent of the Governor on 25 June 1987.
