Amendment of Pensions Regulations.

PENSION BENEFITS

49. The Pensions Regulations shall be amended as follows-

(a) by deleting "WITHOUT OTHER PUBLIC SERVICE" in the heading

Part II and substituting the following-

"OTHER THAN TRANSFERRED OFFICERS";

(b) in regulation 3, by deleting "of the Colony" and "in the Colony"

and substituting in each case the following-

(c) in regulation 4 --

"under the Government";

(i) by deleting "a pensionable" and substituting the following-

"an established";

(ii) by deleting "in the Colony" and "of the Colony" and substituting in each case the following—

"under the Government";

(iii) by deleting "may" and substituting the following-

"shall";

(iv) by renumbering it as paragraph (1) thereof; and (v) by inserting after paragraph (1) the following-

"(2) Notwithstanding the limit in the service specified in paragraph (1), a pension shall be granted in accordance with that paragraph to an officer who is retired under section 6(1)(i) or (j) irrespective of the length of his qualifying service.";

(d) in regulation 5-

(i) by deleting "of the Colony" and substituting the following-

"under the Government";

(ii) by deleting "may" and substituting the following-

"shall"; and

(iii) by deleting "5" and substituting the following-

(e) in regulation 6—

"7";

(i) by deleting "a pensionable" in paragraphs (a) and (c) and substituting in each case the following-

"an established";

(ii) by deleting "of the Colony" in paragraph (b) and substitut- ing the following-

"under the Government"; and

(iii) by deleting paragraph (i) and substituting the following-- "(i) the highest annual rate of pensionable emoluments with

effect from 9 December 1949; or";

(ƒ) in regulation 7, by deleting "of the Colony" and substituting the

following--

(g) in regulation 8-

"under the Government";

(i) in the definition of "service in the Group" in paragraph (1), by deleting "of the Colony"; and

(ii) in paragraph (2), by deleting "or pensionable office";
