The Director of Immigration will not normally approve a change of employment in Hong Kong following the termination of a FDH contract during the 1st year of the two-year period. The FDH must return to the country of origin and apply a new for the appropriate visa to entry and work in Hong Kong.

Any approval to change employment during the second year of the two-year FDH contract will be subject to the helper returning to the country of origin after no more than two years from the date of the original approval. Re-entry facilities to assist the helper to return to the new employer will be considered. The cost of repatriation is the responsibility of the original employer, but may be negotiated with the new employer.
