to revise the pamphlets on the conditions of employment of FDHS to include the new conditions of stay;

not to allow change of employment in the first or second year of a FDH employment contract except in exceptional circumstances (e.g. when the employer is unable to continue with the contract because of external transfer, death or for financial reasons);

to raise the level of discretion to allow change of employment from Immigration Officer to Chief Immigration Officer, as endorsed by the Corruption Prevention Department, ICAC;

to publicise that it is against the law

law to employ, full-time ΟΙ part-time, FDHS who have been permitted to stay in Hong Kong to work for another person. Publicity will make it clear that persons who assist FDHs to break the law commit an offence while FDHS who take part-time or full-time employment in this manner may be removed for being in breach of conditions of stay. Publicity will also sczess that persons SO removed will not be allowed to come again to work as FDHs;

to review regularly the wage level for FDHs to ensure that it does not fall out of line with wages paid to local full-time domestic

helpers. Increases in the wage level for FDHS, if justified by the results of the regular reviews, will be announced on an annual basis;

to revise the standard FDH employment contract to provide for wage rates to be increased in the second year of a contract to a rate not less than the then prevailing rate for new contracts;

remind employers that they are required to take out insurance policies for their FDHS to cover accidents arising out of and in the course of employment.
