The on-site contingency plan provides that, in the event of an incident, the technical support centre will be manned by technical specialists. Their function would be to provide an evaluation of the status of the plant, the progress of the incident and the action being taken by the operators. The technical support centre staff would provide advice to the power plant management on technical

aspects of the incident.

This is a further separate facility to the control room and technical support centre. Its function is to coordinate and direct all aspects of the on-site contingency plan and to be the point of contact for communications off-site.

As stated earlier, the operation of the plant is covered by detailed procedures in
