ANNUAL REPORT FOR 1986

Under the Banking Ordinance, 1986, the

principal function of the Commissioner of Banking is

to promote:

"the general stability and effective working of

the banking system."

To account for his stewardship, the Commissioner is

required, as soon as practicable after 31st December

each year,

to prepare and furnish to the Financial

Secretary, for presentation to the Governor in

Council, a report on the working of the Banking

Ordinance and of the activities of the Commis-

sioner's office during the preceding year. This Report is presented in

provisions of the Ordinance.
