THE RATING (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 1987

(No. 11 of 1987)

This Ordinance amends the Rating Ordinance

for the following principal purposes

to abolish the rate relief scheme, introduced as a temporary concession

at the time of the last general revaluation in 1984 (section 7);

to provide that objections to certain valuation decisions may be settled

by agreement (sections 6, 8 and 12); and

to repeal certain provisions that are no longer applicable (sections 2 and 3).

2. Before the Acting Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, the Attorney General advised that he could properly do so.
