immediate responsibility to do that and I understand, I am not a builder but I understand that as far as concreting is concerned, waterproofing the concrete and other such actions, it can be extremely difficult even for a Clerk of Works to know if every detail has been properly complied with. There has to be a certain degree of trust given to the contractor that he will do what he is supposed to do.

Sorry, anyway I just heard from this particular gentleman that the consultant did employ a senior Clerk of Works on site.
MR MOTTRAM:
Not on site, no. We do have within the

office staff organisation a Senior Clerk of Works. He was incidentally a retired Government Clerk of Works, but we employed him to do general supervision on all of our jobs at that time.
MR CHEONG:
I see.
MR MOTTRAM:
And what he would do, he would just
generally, do a general supervisory job on possibly half a dozen
