DI: Well, of course, the point is there's a considerable
amount of money involved. These tickets, the ones for adults represent $120. It is said that this procedure is necessary to
make sure the tickets are not re-used. Now, if the tickets are going to be checked in this way, obviously we must make sure that the tickets if our staff are responsible for doing it and it's the airline's money we've got to make sure that the tickets are cancelled in every case. There would have to be some system of supervision. The obvious thing to do would be to have a system of our retaining the ticket stub, the tax stub, after it's been detached. But, of course, I think we come basically to the question of what we would be achieving by doing this anyway.

CHAIRMAN: Such as?
DI: Well, the real cost in additional immigration staff which would eventually surface. Of course, it could appear that we were absorbing the work at the cost of slowing down the passenger flow but eventually we would be having to engage more staff to do the job and make sure the job is done properly.

Okay, well, we shall pursue that point.

MR CHUNG: Apparently, if the job is done by immigration officers at the counters, at least it would save several staff,
32 that means now being done by those several girls, just taking off
the tickets from the boarding pass. I don't see why it is not possible for the immigration officers to just tear off the tax ticket from the boarding pass; And also to counter-check would be quite simple, I presume; it's just checking the number of passengers
