I am not sure exactly when you are taking over from Clinton Leeks, but I guess the handover must be due any time now. On that basis, I decided it was about time to start addressing letters to you!

Our telno 2752 of 14 July gave an outline of the visit to Guangdong led by Sir D Akers-Jones from 29 July to 2 August. I am happy to enclose for your information a copy of the report produced by Lands and Works Branch on the visit.
