(Chapter 124)
RESUMPTION OF LAND FOR A SECONDARY SCHOOL
IN AREA 31A, TUEN MUN NEW TOWN,
TUEN MUN, NEW TERRITORIES
Introduction
The purpose of this memorandum is to seek Members' advice on the proposed resumption of land in Area 31A, Tuen Mun New Town, New Territories for the construction of a secondary school.
Background

Most of the site required for the school has already been handed over to the Project Manager and work has already started. The school is due for completion in September 1988.

The Project Manager (NT/North West) considers that the resumption of a small portion of a private lot within the north-eastern boundary of the project area is essential for subsoil/surface drainage and construction of boundary walls/fences.

Negotiations for the voluntary surrender of the land required have proved unsuccessful and there is no alternative but to institute formal resumption proceedings.
Proposal

It is
proposed that 26 square metres (280 square feet) of Lot No. 370 R. P. in D.D. 131 the general location of which is shown coloured orange in Identification Plan No. TMIM 88 annexed here to be resumed. The Director of Buildings and Lands is satisfied that the private land involved is the minimum necessary to implement this project.
