(i) a breakage occurs of any

of the suspension ropes of the

lift:

(ii) a failure occurs of a

brake, overload device or the

safety equipment provided for the

lift; or

(iii) a failure occurs of the

interlocking devices (other than

by reason of the failure of the

making of electrical contact of

safety contacts) provided for the

doors of the lift-way and car of

the lift; or

an escalator, where a failure.
