engineer or registered escalator

engineer, as the case may be.

(2A) A person who has had 10 years'

practical experience in the installation,

commissioning, testing and maintenance of

lifts or escalators, if in the opinion of

the Director such experience is appropriate,

shall be deemed to satisfy paragraphs (a)

and (b) of subsection (2).

(2B) The Director may include in the

register of lift engineers or the register

of escalator engineers, or both registers,

any person who is not qualified for

inclusion therein under subsection (2) or

(2A), if in any particular case the Director

is of the opinion that such person is

qualified to carry out the duties and

exercise the functions required to be

carried out by this Ordinance by a

registered lift engineer or registered

escalator engineer, as the case may be.";
