Roads (Works, Use and Compensation) Ordinance (Chapter 370)

Introduction

EASTERN HARBOUR CROSSING

AMENDMENT UNDER SECTION 11(5) OF

AUTHORIZED PLANS AND SCHEME

The purpose of this memorandum

is

to seek

authorization for the amendment of the plans and scheme already authorized for the construction of the Eastern Harbour Crossing and associated roadworks as described in Annex A.

Background

At the meeting on 10 June 1986 after considering memorandum XCC(86)101, which concerned authorization of the roadworks in connection with the construction of the Eastern Harbour Crossing and associated roadworks, the Council advised and the Governor ordered :-

(a)

that under section 11(2)b of the Roads (Works, Use and Compensation) Ordinance (hereinafter referred to as "the Ordinance") the works and the use as described in the memorandum should be authorized without modification;

(b) that under section 11 (3) of the Ordinance, the plans, scheme and objections should not be referred to the Town Planning Board for a report and advice; and

(c)

that during

during construction, noise should be monitored on a continuous basis and that, if there is a problem, the advice of the Council should be sought.

The Eastern Harbour Crossing Ordinance came into effect on 1 August 1986 and construction commenced on 7 August 1986.
