this respect, it is proposed that the authorization sought herein be made subject to the condition that the closure of On Tai Street shall not extend beyond the southern end of the proposed temporary steel staircase;
access from the Western Market onto On Tai Street will not be adversely affected. There are 3 entrances to the Western Market from On Tai Street. The southernmost entrance is presently closed. During construction
the footbridge the northernmost entrance will be closed, but the southernmost entrance can be used, thereby maintaining 2 entrances from On Tai Street;

(d) the main entrance to the Western Market is off Connaught Road West and has vehicular access. There are 3 3 entrances on the east (Morrison Street) side of the Western Market.
The loading and unloading activities of the market stall operators have already been shifted from On Tai Street to Connaught Road Central when the Street was closed for Mass Transit Railway works;

A copy of the Plan No. HH 5489 showing the locations of the betting centre, the shop and the entrances to the Western Market with works proposed under the amendments in On Tai Street is attached at Annex D.

The proposed relocation of the southernmost staircase the east side of the Tung Hing Lane footbridge will not adversely affect any access of any occupiers or owners of any land or building.
