Introduction

is to seek

The purpose of this memorandum authorization for the amendment of the plans and scheme already authorized for the construction of the Rumsey Street Flyover scheme, which is part of the upgrading and dualling of Connaught Road and ancillary roadworks project, as described in Annexes A & B A and B to the memorandum.

Background

At the meeting on 1 July 1986, after considering memorandum XCR (86) 122, which concerned authorization of the road works in connection with the construction of the Rumsey Street Flyover scheme, the Council advised and the Governor ordered that:

(a) the objections to the scheme should be

rejected;

(b)

under section 11(3) of the Roads (Works, Use and Compensation) Ordinance (Chapter 370)

the Governor in Council should exercise his discretion not to refer the plans, scheme and objections to the Town Planning Board; and
