Crown Lands Resumption Ordinance

(Chapter 124)

RESUMPTION OF LAND FOR REMAINING ENGINEERING WORKS, HANG HAU AREA -AREA 'A' OF STAGE 2, JUNK BAY SAI KUNG, NEW TERRITORIES

Introduction

The purpose of this memroandum is to seek Members' advice on the proposed resumption of land at Hang Hau area, Sai Kung in connection with the development of Junk Bay New Town.

Background

As part of the development of Junk Bay New Town, it is proposed to form approximately 39 hectares of land at Hang Hau to be used for the construction of public housing, rental and home ownership scheme flats, and associated roads, drains and sewers.

Resumption of land is now needed to allow engineering works to begin in January 1988. This project is in Category 'AB' of the Public Works Programme under Item No. 188CL and will be up-graded to Category 'A' in the first quarter of the financial year 1987/88. The project will take about 36 months to complete.

Proposal

To implement the works, the Director of Territory Development has requested the resumption of four private lots comprising 30,633.9 square metres (329,741 square feet) of industrial land. The general locations

locations of the land to be resumed is shown coloured orange on the Identification Plan No. SKIM-24 annexed. The Director of Buildings and Lands is satisfied that the private land involved is the mimimum necessary to implement this project.
