A BILL

To

Provide for the prevention, minimizing and abatement of

noise; the appointment of a Noise Control Authority;

the powers and duties of the Noise Control Authority

relating to the control of noise; the creation of

offences; and for connected purposes.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice

and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

Short title and

commencement.

PART I

PRELIMINARY

(1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Noise

Control Ordinance 1987.

(2) This Ordinance shall come into operation on a day

to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette

and notices under this section may appoint different dates

for the coming into operation of different provisions of

this Ordinance.

Interpreta-

tion.

2. In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise

requires

"Appeal Board" means the Appeal Board constituted under

section 19;
