I refer to the letter I had sent you some time earlier and

the reply you gave me. Thank you for your concern.

On 1.9.1986 Mr CHAN Hon-keung of Yuen Long Land Office

saw me and told me the routes of the New Territories Circular Road

network themselves do not affect my Foon Hei Lau Restaurant (located at lot nos. 2597 and 2599 in DD104, San Tin district). He said the

area was only resumed for work-site purposes. Then I asked CHAN

Hon-keung whether the telephone exchange (in the vicinity of Foon Hei Lau Restaurant) which is at more or less the same angle as my

restaurant would be resumed for work-site purposes.

Mr CHAN replied

it would not. I feel it most unfair and therefore object. Is the

Transport Branch afraid of the large concerns? Is it that it dares

not touch the large public utilites but has no hesitation doing

what it likes to the small business. Besides, there are lots of

agricultural land that can be mobilized for the use. Therefore I

plead with you to modify the plan, to leave my restaurant alone,

to treat everybody in the same manner and to play fair so that

my life-long hard-earned millions of dollars that had been invested

in the business would not be all down the drain. Should my restaurant be closed down, close to 100 people's livelihood is bound to be

affected and these people will be swept into financial straits. hope you will understand my difficulties and sympathize with my plight so that I can live in peace and content.
