General Description of the Works

This scheme forms part of the New Territories

· Circular Road Improvements project, Au Tau to Fan Kam

Road, and involves the construction of approximately 750

metres of the trunk road and associated works between the

section from Sheung San Wai and Yau Mei San Tsuen. A

layout of the road is shown on Plan No. NH 6153A.

The new road will be built to trunk road

standards with no frontage access and will initially have

dual 2-lane carriageways. Allowance has been made in the

project for widening to dual 3-lane carriageways in future

as and when necessary without any additional resumption of

land.

There will be a service road on both sides of the

trunk road. Where possible, the existing Castle Peak Road

will be utilized as one of the service roads. An

interchange, to link the service roads to the trunk road,

will be located just outside the southern limit of this

scheme at Fairview Park. It will also allow traffic to

move from one service road to the other without affecting

the flow on the trunk road. Major vehicle and pedestrian

accesses leading to the nearby villages will be connected

to the service roads.
